This morning, Glitza is joined by Sofi — whose hypnotic SuperCollider performance at Sound Days in Latvia left a lasting impression. She presents an exploration of ambient, experimental, and glitch-infused soundscapes.

Sofi (Sofia Zaiceva) is a Latvian sound artist and performer currently based in
Helsinki, Finland. With a background that spans classical piano training and
electroacoustic composition to creative coding, she has developed a

distinctive approach to experimental electronic music that prioritises open-
source praxis and immersive sonic experiences.

Sofi's practice centres on creative coding, embodiment, human-machine
communication, spatial sound, and improvisation. Her work investigates
sound as a malleable medium capable of evoking associations and altering
perception, while exploring narratives of triggers, noise, and randomness
within complex algorithmic musical systems. Her latest solo album “aze”
(2024) has been released on Italian label “Riforma”.
Sofi has been an active artist on Baltic scene, performing in
such festivals and venues as “Skaņu Mežs” in Riga, Latvia, “Ule Heli ”,
“COMMUTE #5” and “The Dark Side of The Moon” in Talinn, Estonia, “Sola”
festival in Helsinki, Finland, “ABOUT BLANK” in Berlin, Germany,
“MeetFactory” in Prague, Czech Republic, “Dom in Berg” in Graz, Austria etc..
Sofi is an artist of the SHAPE+ platform for innovative music and
interdisciplinary art during 2024/2025.
