Músicas Sospechosas & the Mediterranean: a sea of songs

Mediterranean means “in the middle of the lands.” A sea that unites us, that brings us closer, and that nourishes us. A sea that allows Africa and Europe and the Arab world and the Turkish and the Greek and the Amazigh and the Jewish and the Sicilian and so many, many beautiful cultures to speak to one another. Above all, through music. This is a session to talk about the invisible connections that music offers us. The Mediterranean is exploited by tourism, by weapons, by the ever-growing military spending. By war. Let us not be divided—Miriam Makeba already said it: don’t divide us, unify us. Through music.
