Caroline Barbosa, also known as Carol Selecta, is a Brazilian researcher, record collector and DJ from São Paulo specialised in Afro-diasporic rhythms. She has been attending DJ and sound system parties for over 10 years, connecting and navigating between various genres such as funk, soul, R&B, hip-hop, samba and, mainly, reggae, always attentive to new productions — both national and international — without neglecting references and versions from other decades.
